Allison Janney wants to make it clear to everyone that she in no way resembles the character she plays in I,Tonya! She played Tonya Harding’s cantankerous and monumentally unattractive mother. She’s hoping she won’t be type-cast and bombarded with scripts with similarly unappealing characters. So Allison found a spectacularly glam dress (and black, too!) for her appearance at the British Academy Film Awards and she WON for Best Supporting Actress.

Looks like a man.
Glamorous! She looks fabulous, and is an amazing actress.
Not a fashion expert so my opinion simply is my raw reaction to that photo. Was she accepting her award while simultaneously auditioning for a Star Trek gig?
Dress would have been fine without that silly pseudo-jacket.
you see what you get…………..Alzheimer?
Is it couture?
That seam that bisects the neckline points to “no,” but she looks fabulous. And congrats on a well-deserved win.
We groaned, however, at all of the self-congratulatory gassing over “Three Billboards.”
Apparently, given the times, it’s being positioned as some sort of empowering statement (!!).
Considering it’s farcical from start to finish, that’s an irony that may be lost on the film’s makers, but we hope it doesn’t outshine “The Shape of Water” in Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Director, and Best Original Score.
(And yes, we’re aware of the plagiarism flap surrounding del Toro’s original screenplay).
lovely
