But I'm also a bit bemused that no-one has even considered the obnoxiousness of the storyline of the movie this guy is making (or not). Pretending to be gay to get extra benefits they wouldn't otherwise get ? In what universe is this movie set ?! 'Coz it sure ain't this one !! Gays don't even get *basic* rights in the US, let alone extra ones.

This movie is pretty likely a remake of an Australian one made in 2005, with the same absurd (and kinda insulting) premise, that starred Paul Hogan (remember him from "Crocodile Dundee" ? But the movie bombed, if I remember rightly). In recent years here in Oz as well, gay people have been denied basic rights by extraordinary amendments to the law. So the movie was just as offensive here.
