Sacha Baron Cohen finally came home (he's been all over the place shooting his Bruno movie) and whisked Isla Fisher and their baby Olive off to Hawaii for a vacation. Apparently, Olive isn't familiar with the beach and she delighted in the sand and the water.

Paul McCartney's trek across the USA on Route 66 caused pockets of chaos in some of the places where he stopped. For example, Paul and his girlfriend Nancy Shevell pulled into the Circle K gas station in Springfield, Missouri, in their 1989 Ford Bronco the first week of August, and no one paid attention. But when Paul got out to use the men's room, one of a car full of young local guys on their way to St Louis for a Cardinal game, gasped "That looks like Paul McCartney!" He yelled "Hey, Paul!" and Paul answered in his distinctive accent. The excited guys chatted with Paul and he posed for the above photo with them. The State Journal_Register published the picture and it started a major uproar. The paper was inundated by readers insisting it was a hoax and the picture was photoshopped. They couldn't believe Paul was in their town, much less driving a Bronco! It was the subject of much speculation for days. We can imagine this scene repeating itself in many of the small towns Paul visited.

Paul McCartney is currently fulfilling a lifelong dream of driving across the United States on the old Route 66 and he's taking a month to do it. Paul and his girlfriend Nancy Shevell left the Hamptons and plan to drive to Santa Monica in their Ford Bronco truck. They picked up Rte 66 in Illinois and will take it all the way across seven states. Instead of heading for fancy hotels, the couple plan to camp out and do a lot of sight-seeing like ordinary tourists. In the picture above he's taking a photo of Nancy in New Mexico. How fun would it be to have Paul walk into your diner in the middle of nowhere?

Lovebirds Ellen Degeneres and Portia de Rossi are already honeymooning in Rome and the wedding is still in the planning stages. We're particularly impressed that the pair plans to tell guests that they don't want ANY wedding gifts.

We're starting to think we'll NEVER get a chance to see Amy Winehouse in person because she may never pull herself together. (Her US tour is canceled.) It's a twisted soap opera. Amy and her husband Blake have quit rehab twice since her overdose. Amy won't go to rehab without her Blake. Blake refuses to give up drugs and threatened suicide if Amy leaves him for rehab. They've been staying at the Covent Garden Hotel, and wearing out their welcome with their noisy antics and shady late night visitors. The couple's parents finally coaxed Amy and Blake into taking a "vacation" away from London to a tropical climate. They're hoping the change of scene will help. Amy dragged Blake to the airport at 6AM and they took off for parts unknown.

Looks like Janet Jackson has taken up the same hobby as Lindsay Lohan - eating - oops, we mean photography. Most people get in shape for the summer, others let themselves go. Janet's in Miami with her boyfriend Jermaine Dupri, and she doesn't give a hoot about her size. One of the reasons she and Jermaine have lasted so long together is because he never complains about her yo-yoing weight. Janet says he "loves her curves."
