He likes the lake for it's fishing, swimming, and boating, and unlike Malibu, the area is very private and secure.
Sylvester Stallone has been TALKING about doing a movie on the life of Edgar Allen Poe for decades and it looks like he's finally going to pull it off. Sly wrote his own script on the American writer's madly tortured life and mysterious death in 1849, and he plans to direct the movie, but NOT star in it. First, Sly considered Robert Downey Jr for the lead. But he ended up offering it to Eastern Promises star Viggo Mortensen. Viggo DID ask for a few script changes, but it looks like it might happen.
People invited to the January 24th premier of Sylvester Stallone's new Rambo film at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas probably don't realize that the exact release date was carefully chosen by Stallone's mother Jackie. She's been into numerology and tarot cards for years and she picked the best time, place, and day to open the film. (She always seemed to have a bit of Gypsy in her) In fact, since his first Rocky movie, Sly has been consulting his mother for the ideal release dates. He's never regretted her choices and says she's actually predicted every major event in his life.
We're thinking Sylvester Stallone would have been smart to ignore Janice Dickinson's comments about his doing steroids and "shooting her up with them" too. Back in the early 90's when Janice and Sylvester were dating, Sly WAS hugely muscled and around that time he was hospitalized with some kind of heart problem that was supposedly caused by performance enhancing drugs. (And don't forget his recent smuggling problem.) He's obviously still irked with Janice for fooling him into thinking her daughter Savannah was HIS. (He did pay Janice's rent back then and a LOT of her bills including the hospital expenses.) He walked out when DNA proved the baby wasn't his. Now that Sly has called Janice a LIAR, he's stirred up a hornet's nest of aggravation for himself. She's not going to shut up about it and who cares if he did steroids, anyway?
Nothing frames a big new tattoo better than a sleeveless Ed Hardy t shirt. Just ask Sylvester Stallone (or Madonna, for that matter.) We're guessing Stallone's new tat is a picture of his wife Jennifer and we wonder what will happen to her face if Sly doesn't continue doing whatever he does to inflate those BULGING muscles. He's bigger than ever because he recently finished his new movie John Rambo.
Encouraged by the success of his last Rocky movie, Sylvester Stallone is excited and nervous over his latest project John Rambo. Insiders say Sly really wants to be the bigtime player he used to be in Hollywood, and a lot depends on the new Rambo he recently finished. He even leaked the trailer early to try and get some response. Stallone, 61, knows the studio wants his to look 45 in the movie, and his body is bulging with muscles. But supplements and workouts don't help his face, so Stallone, who also directed the film, is having extensive and EXPENSIVE retouching done in all his scenes to make him look younger. Our source told us he's especially concerned with his jawline. It's costing a fortune but the director thinks it's worth it.

Last week Sylvester Stallone and his mullet returned from Burma where he filmed John Rambo, and he heaved a sigh of relief. Sly told friends it was really scarey filming there - that many of them don't like Americans and he was driven around in an armored car. Usually Sly likes to fly his Jennifer and the kids in for a visit wherever he's filming but he decided it was just too dangerous. In this photo he's walking out of the Martin Katz jewelry store in Bevelry Hills with a gift for SOMEBODY.
The fact that Rocky Balboa was a success, despite the maturity of the leading man, has opened more doors than one. Sylvester Stallone is proceeding with his Rambo movie and older dogs in Philadelphia once deemed undesirable, are being adopted! Rocky rescued an old unwanted dog from the pound he named Punchy in the movie, and the loyal dog ran along with him on his workouts. Apparently Punchy made such a good impression that Philadelphia pounds are reporting that adoption of older dogs has gone up 60 % and they credit the movie.
Sylvester Stallone isn't too worried about the drug charges against him in Australia. He was detained when 46 bottles of human growth hormone were found in his luggage that were undeclared. These are considered to be performance enhancing drugs like steroids in Australia. The worst that could happen is that Stallone would have to pay $96,000. The interesting part of the story is: what was he doing with these drugs? It seems Stallone's mom Jackie encouraged Sly to start taking GHB twenty years ago to keep him young. Originally the meds were used to make short children grow taller. We don't know if Sly got taller, but the drugs are also described as "feel-good" drugs or "the fountain of youth." They became very popular in the 80's with wealthy people who wanted to retain their vigor and youthful appearance. The pricey drugs are supposed to build muscle and keep weight down, increase skin elasticity and boost energy. Sounds good, but doctors clash on whether the drugs are safe, so their legality varies. We're told that people who take them are afraid to stop because they might suddenly get fat, lose muscle tone and energy, and have aging sagging skin - all leading to depression! So the jury is still out on these drugs, but Sly seems to believe in them!
It's not likely that Rocky Balboa will win an Oscar (although it's doing well at the boxoffice) but we think the makeup artist should be up for an award. Not only did she make up Stallone's face, but she had to AIRBRUSH on his six - pack ABS every day that he went shirtless in the ring scenes! It's amazing, but those stomach muscles are FAKE! A little shading goes a long way. The simulated abs look surprisingly real and we predict a lot of guys in Hollywood will be wanting this done.
Sylvester Stallone is out promoting his aging prizefighter movie Rocky Balboa, and The Daily Mail noted that Sly is getting to look more like his mother every day! Besides having the same plastic surgeon, Jacqueline and Sly have always been big believers in taking advantage of all the anti-aging shots and supplements available. We're not sure if that's a good thing. At least Sly's pretty wife Jennifer knows what her husband will look like in twenty years.
