She executive produced a movie she can be proud of: "The Secret Life of Bees." It takes place in South Carolina in 1964 at the height of racial turmoil. It's a surprisingly endearing story of a motherless child (Dakota Fanning) who finds a place in the home of a woman with a thriving honey farm (Queen Latifah.) It IS a girly movie, but thoroughly enjoyable. Congratulations to Jada for her good taste!

We can't help but laugh at the lengths security guards are going to in order to keep cameras away from Queen Latifah as she leaves Hyde. Why is she causing such a fuss? Is it because she obviously isn't wearing any of the Cover Girl makeup she sells on TV? Is she trying to conceal the fact that her weight isn't an ideal example for Jenny Craig? Being a spokesperson can be a burden on a celebrity - except when the check arrives.

Judging by this photo of Queen Latifah leaving the Crustacean restaurant in Beverly Hills, Jenny Craig might be in for a fright. Latifah looks like she fell off her diet in a big way - of course it might just be the awkward angle of the camera. Let's hope so. Poor Jenny doesn't need another Kirstie Alley. Keep in mind that when Latifah signed up with Jenny Craig, she KNEW her weight would be watched!
Queen Latifah is engaged to her personal trainer Jeanette Jenkins and they're making wedding plans, according to this week's Enquirer. Latifah and Jeanette have been together for five years - they fell for each other while working out together in the gym. Jeanette has trained many celebrities and is the author of "The Hollywood Trainer Weight-loss Plan." Queen Latifah has been very secretive about their relationship because she is a spokesperson for a number of companies. Now that California recognizes gay marriage, Latifah feels the time is right, but she still plans to keep her private life very discreet, There will be no shouting it from the rooftops.

Queen Latifah and a friend were spotted leaving Crunch gym in West Hollywood and it looks like she's taking her workouts seriously. She's a spokesperson for beauty products so Latifah HAS to look good. Plus we hear she has a weakness for freshly made donuts. (Here's an interesting footnote: Queen Latifah was originally hired to play the role in Monsters Ball that Halle Berry ended up doing. Scheduling problems interfered, and the part went to Halle.)
