Hollywood is disappointed because so far the Anthony Pellicano trial has produced no bombshells. Private investigator Pellicano is accused of raking in millions by spying on Hollywood's rich and famous, and then blackmailing them by threatening to supply dirt to their rivals. Hillary Clinton allegedly hired Pellicano in 1992 to discredit Monica Lewinsky. Tom Cruise's lawyer Bert Fields often hired the private eye and he allegedly wiretapped Nicole Kidman's phones when she and Tom Cruise were divorcing. (Scientologists LOVE this sort of thing.) Since Tom was spying on Nicole before they split up, we were hoping to hear the lurid details that caused him to abruptly file for divorce. We THINK we know what happened, but it would be nice to have it verified in court. It's speculated that the only way dirt will be slung at this trial is if Pellicano decides to turn on his former clients who have all but abandoned him.
Nicole Kidman has ANNOUNCED that she is pregnant! Big Deal. Everybody knew she was expecting weeks ago but she chose to deny it. Somehow our happiness for her has been spoiled by the fact that she LIED to us. Avoiding the issue is one thing, lying is another.

Nicole Kidman has been admitting that although she dearly loves her husband Keith Urban, her marriage is far from perfect. But she's determined to hold it together so she showed up to support him on the red carpet at an Australian Music awards show. On the way in she bumped into hot Australian singer Delta Goodrem, who bears a striking resemblance to the murdered actress Sharon Tate from Valley of the Dolls.
It's no coincidence that the story about George Clooney betting that he would never marry started circulating again. (Years ago, George bet Nicole Kidman and Michele Pfeiffer $10,000 each that he wouldn't marry before he turned 40. Nicole sent a check when he hit 40 and he sent it back saying "Double or nothing until I turn 50.") That motorcycle accident left him in a very tenuous position. When the accident happened, George was heard telling his injured girlfriend Sarah Larson that he "loved her." (She won't forget THAT soon.) And certainly he is riddled with guilt because he was responsible for her injuries, including a broken foot. He owes her BIG TIME. An accident usually bonds people together. But George is a serial dater and dead set on staying single. Hence the story about the bet "resurfaced" to soften the blow when he moves on from Sarah.
We hate to nitpick, but Nicole Kidman has been having some really bad hair days. And she's always been so immaculately put together in the past! Although Keith doesn't seem to mind, her locks look damaged and the bleached out white color is jarring- along with her pale skin, it makes one think of albinoism. The long frizzy style is equally unflattering and we can only hope this hairdo is temporary and destined for a movie role. What KIND of role, we can't imagine.
Since the Anna Nicole Smith drama started, Hollywood writers have been frantically scribbling to be first with the ultimate script based on her life and death. And don't think ideas about who should play Anna aren't already being tossed about. The only thing slowing down the production of Anna's life story is the fact that there is no end in sight. Things keep coming up. Our whimsical colleague, Simon Doonan of the New York Observer, believes that Nicole Kidman should snatch up the rights to Anna Nicole's biopic ASAP. He gleefully suggests that if Nic would pack on the pounds to play Anna, it could be her "Raging Bull." We LOVE that mental picture!
We had no idea that making movies could do terrible things to your hair, but Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts have had some bad experiences. They claim that the studio people are way too rough on their locks when they change color, blow dry, and style. The constant manipulation to get the perfect look, damaged their fragile hair. They're both leading ladies in demand these days so they don't have to put up with broken ends. Awhile back, the two Australian pals joined forces to INSIST that they wear wigs in every movie they make, and it's become a given. Even if it looks exactly like their natural hair, you can bet it's fake.
Rumors that Keith Urban checked back into rehab were circulating last week, but they proved to be untrue. Keith and Nicole continue to live at the Beverly Hills Hotel while she films "Invasion." (A remake of The Body Snatchers that we can't wait to see) Nicole wasn't injured in that movie car accident a few days ago, but Keith sent her a lavish bouquet of flowers to cheer her up after the close call. They were seen hand in hand wandering around the 3rd Street Promenade this past weekend , with no photographers hot on their trail.

If you're confused by what the heck is going on with Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban - here's the real deal. They are still VERY much together and Nicole remains supportive. She is NOT about to dump him because of that drunken fling he had before they were married. Nicole appreciates that Keith is adamant about finishing his full 90 days in rehab at the Betty Ford Center. No early departures for HIM! He got a little time off during the holidays to spend with his wife, but he immediately returned to complete his therapy, which concludes sometime next week. Meanwhile, he and Nicole are cuddled up to their respective webcams keeping in close touch daily.
As we told you awhile back, Nicole Kidman is definitely NOT pregnant. And she just PROVED IT by shopping at the baby store Petit Tresor. This shop must have a direct line to the media - every time a celebrity walks in the door they trumpet every detail of the purchase. (And we lOVE them for that!) If Nicole were keeping a pregnancy under wraps, this is the LAST store she'd shop in. Plus, of course, newly pregnant women don't go out buying baby clothes right away - that can be unlucky. Nicole is too smart for that.
Is Nicole Kidman losing her children? Except at her wedding, we haven't seen photos of Hollywood's highest paid actress, Nicole, with her kids, Connor and Isabella, for a very long time. Supposedly she had custody for six months of the year but we wonder if Tom has convinced her not to interrupt their home schooling by taking them away to Australia or wherever. There's always the chance that the Scientology based home schooling (brainwashing?) the kids are getting could - in a subtle way - be turning them against their mother. We 'wonder how Nicole feels about this education her kids are getting - Scientologists teach what they like and don't believe in going to college. After a number of years of Scientology studies, the kids will have more in common with Tom and have a hard time relating to their mother. Judging from the photo above, Connor is already in deep.
Even more than Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's apparent height difference, we are amazed at the proliferation of "Nicole pregnant " stories in those magazines you pay for. You can't escape reading stories about Nicole expecting - one story printed went so far as to detail a conversation that Nicole and Keith Urban had when she went to visit her husband, currently in recovery at the Betty Ford Center. They claimed she "broke the news" of her pregnancy there. The same inside sources who were first to reveal to us exactly WHERE Keith was being treated, tell us that Nicole is NOT expecting right now. She simply visited Keith because she loves and misses her husband - she wants him healthy and home soon.
Despite what you read elsewhere, Keith Urban is being treated for substance abuse at the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, Cal. His people deliberately hinted that he was back at the same rehab near Nashville where he was previously treated and they managed to throw the press off the scent. And of course, those stories about Nicole "visiting " him there are fabricated. In fact, Bettty Ford does not allow patients to have ANY visitors for at least the first three weeks of treatment. After that a visit for a few hours on Sundays is permitted. Keith is very serious about his treatment - he's not lounging at a Malibu rehab for spoiled rich kids. But Keith and Nicole HAVE kept in touch - thanks to webcams. Keith looks forward to his monitored communication with Nicole on the webcam. Nicole is spending as much time as possible close to Los Angeles while Keith is in treatment. She hopes to see him as often as allowed, as time goes by. Meanwhile their webcam trysts are all they have.
Since Keith Urban checked into rehab, rumors have been swirling about where he might be, and whether Nicole Kidman is a frequent visitor. Naturally it's a big secret, but the media has speculated that he might be at a place called Cumberland Heights Clinic in Tennesee because it's close to his home. WE hear he's actually checked into the old stand-by, Betty Ford in California. Urban's management team is in Southern California and they probably joined up with Nicole to make it all happen. Since Betty Ford limits visitors during early treatment, we doubt whether Nicole is spending time with him yet. But she WILL.
We thought SOMETHING was up on Tuesday when Nicole Kidman turned up in Neiman Marcus accompanied by an older women - "maybe her mother or mother-in-law." According to another shopper "Nicole wore jeans and her WET hair was pulled back in a bun.The women were quiet and kept to themselves. " On her way to or from an INTERVENTION perhaps? A few days later it was announced that Keith had entered rehab. People who know and love Keith Urban say he's an angst ridden artist when he has a new record coming out. " He's a humble guy, and he gets freaked out by his own success. " The tension mounts when he's releasing a new CD, and whether he was dabbling in smoking cocaine or drinking is not clear. When she married Keith, Nicole knew his addiction could return, and her PRENUP requires him to get treatment right away. She doesn't want to jeopardize custody of her children. Keith had unpublicized treatment around 2002 somewhere in Malibu, so it's most likely he's there again.
