We have to give credit to Mischa Barton for showing up at the Nylon magazine party NOT wearing sky high heels but sporting somewhat unflattering Keds instead. It's nice that she's showing loyalty to the company that hired her as model/spokesperson. She obviously cares about holding onto that job. We ARE wondering if Mischa is paranoid about photographers shooting the back of her legs in that short skirt considering the recent bathing suit cellulite blowup.
At long last, Mischa Barton has brought home a boyfriend that her mother approves of! Mischa has been dating rocker Taylor Locke, guitarist for the band Rooney, and she wasn't sure how her mother Nuala would react. Mom wasn't thrilled with Mischa's last two serious boyfriends, Brandon Davis and Cisco Adler. Despite his career choice, Taylor is clean-cut, educated, and comes from a good family. This time Nuala encouraged Mischa to go for it. Keep in mind that sometimes a mother's approval takes all the fun out of a romance. Especially for girls who love bad boys.

Okay, Mischa, this has to be one of the goofiest outfits you've ever come up with! (And keep in mind, Mischa Barton is in the habit of BRAGGING that she never uses a stylist and always dresses herself.) Looks like Mischa thought it was winter from the waist up and summer from the ankles down. Sandals and a furry jacket are an odd combo.

Mischa Barton doesn't want to be forgotten so she popped into the Ivy to make sure she'd be photographed looking fresh. It's better that getting caught staggering out of a nightclub. The Keds people are certain to be disappointed in her choice of footwear.

It seems Mischa Barton has been keeping a secret from us. Rumor has it she's been quietly dating Brett Simon, the director of her movie "The Assassination of a High School President" since they met on the set. Usually Mischa is attracted to wealthy men and Brett is somewhat new to the business but he has definite potential. His success as a video director paved the way for his first feature with Mischa. And he has other attributes: He's Princeton educated and 6'4." (That's Brett in the middle in the movie's publicity still above.)

Mischa Barton is still at Sundance and it looks like she wised up and found somebody to carry her swag bags so she doesn't look so greedy. We wonder if she'll bump into her arch enemy Paris Hilton at one of the gifting suites.

We always love catching greedy celebrities loading up on freebies. Mischa Barton is supposed to be promoting a movie at Sundance but she took time to grab as much contraband as she can carry at a gifting center. Nowadays many celebrities are embarrassed to be caught hauling home tons of loot so they have their assistants do the schlepping.

Mischa Barton's DUI arrest is no surprise to people who party with her. One told us "She's always been a big drinker - in fact she can drink most guys under the table. She loves to have a good time and she's the type who never wants to go home. Sometimes all the club employees would have left for the night and Mischa would still be drinking after hours with the owners." At the same time she'd do lines of coke right on the table. If she got caught with drugs it was most likely cocaine."

Can you guess who this is at first glance? Mischa Barton has a whole new look at this Keds party in New York. The red lips and darker hair are kinda cute but she appears less young and innocent. Her outfit isn't her usual style but she does seem to be wearing Keds. Recently she's been working on her new movie Malice in Wonderland - maybe that has something to do with it.
Anyone wondering what Mischa Barton has been up to might be interested to learn that after a few disastrous romances, she is focusing on her career. She spent most of the summer in Europe working and making movies. She has four or five films due to be released in 2008. Mischa has made up her mind NOT to date any more "trust fund" babies. She wants a self-made man who doesn't depend on his family for money. She felt her exboyfriends Brandon Davis and Cisco Adler were coddled and spoiled by their families and lacked ambition. Maybe that's why she turned down Brody Jenner when he asked her for a date recently!

A few days before she "got sick" and was hospitalized at Nicole Richie's Memorial Day party, Mischa Barton shopped for HOURS on the co-op floor at Barneys in Beverly Hills. She examined every rack and tried on mountains of merchandise. Finally, after exhausting several salesclerks, she piled thousand of dollars worth of sportswear on the counter and pulled out her Mastercard. Minutes later, the embarrassed cashier had to break it to Mischa that her card was DENIED! (Everyone was puzzled because while AX cards are sometimes denied, it rarely happens with Mastercards.) Furious Mischa took to yelling angrily into her cellphone but couldn't solve the problem. She had no choice but to leave the clothing "on hold" until she returned with another form of payment. So far she hasn't shown up.

This is how Mischa Barton made her entrance at Mr Chow Friday night, proving that actresses without stylists do have occasional lapses in judgment. Fortunately, she's gorgeous and can get away with denim cut-offs in a fancy restaurant. Maybe she thought the Vuitton patches on the teensy denim shorts "dressed up" the outfit.

After seeing this picture, we HAVE to believe Mischa Barton when she brags that she doesn't have a stylist! The pretty actress turned up at Mr Chow the other night in this getup and we bet she attracted a lot of the wrong kind of attention. She's wearing something peculiar on her head that matches those ethnic glitzy boots. (They don't look like Keds) Odd earrings with the motorcycle jacket, and the gauzy shirt with Daisy Dukes - it all adds up to a VERY unflattering look! It adds about twenty pounds in all the wrong places. Mischa, go home and change!
Truth is stranger than fiction. The REAL reason Mischa Barton and Cisco Adler broke up has NOTHING to do with those awful nude photos of him on the internet. In fact, It was Cisco's idea to split. He has been concerned about Mischa's excessive "partying" (and you know what we mean.) Mischa frequently went out with the girls and came home wasted. Her excessive behavior caused personality changes - moodiness, crying jags, and paranoia. Cisco and some of Mischa's worried girlfriends got together and staged something like an intervention. They want her to clean up her act. Mischa was OUTRAGED. Cisco told her "If you don't do this - we're THROUGH." Predictably, Mischa refused and Cisco stuck to his guns. He's having a hard time, but his friends are keeping him strong.
The Hollywood Girl Feuds are still flourishing. At the Chateau Marmont party hosted by Penelope Cruz, Mischa Barton and Rachel Zoe were having a good time - but with one eye on the door. They did NOT want to run into Nicole Richie so they had planned to make a quick escape if when and if she arrived. They also hoped to avoid Paris Hilton so they asked people to notify them if either turned up. They had their escape route carefully planned so they could leave quickly without any fuss. (The Olsen twins weren't about to let their dislike of Paris Hilton ruin THEIR good time - they just pretend she doesn't exist.) Rachel and Mischa wasted their energy - their arch enemies didn't turn up.
"Mischa is miserable since she left the O.C. She feels like her life is over and everything is going downhill." revealed an insider. "She feels lost since she left the show and started pestering her boyfriend Cisco Adler for a commitment. She threatened to leave if he didn't give her a ring. He wasn't ready to get engaged so he stalled by buying her a "promise" ring. That satisfied her for a few weeks, but she started acting crazy and hyper-emotional. "She acts like she has nothing to live for." Cisco couldn't take the drama and told her "We're better off apart." He told friends "She's too crazy for me." That really set her off - she threatened to commit suicide and even threatened to kill their dog! She was seen sobbing in her car with wrist bandages. Whether she actually cut herself isn't known. "Cisco feels bad so he's pretending to work things out with her so he can let her down easy. He's hoping she'll come to her senses and won't do anything violent or vindictive. But he wants out.
Mischa Barton FINALLY got what she wanted - a ring from Cisco Adler! And it's a whopping diamond. Mischa's been flashing it to all her friends, saying "Look at my promise ring." She wears it on her right hand so it's not an engagement ring - yet. It's a promise to get engaged. Actually it's more of a "compromise ring." Mischa has been hounding Cisco for a commitment - she wanted an engagement ring. Cisco wasn't ready for THAT, but he didn't want to lose her. He knew he had to do SOMETHING to make her happy, so he compromised and gave her the promise ring. For the time being, they're BOTH smiling.

It went down so fast you might not have noticed, but Mischa Barton and Cisco Adler called it quits again - and just as suddenly kissed and made up. Here's what happened: Contrary to popular belief, Mischa was absolutely THROWN when her character was killed off on The O.C. Suddenly she felt insecure and disconnected and worried about the future. She turned to her boyfriend Cisco for solace and informed him that an engagement ring would make her feel a LOT better.Cisco has had this ultimatum pressure from her before and he doesn't like it. He IS crazy about her but he's also confident she'll wait until he's ready to commit. Mischa stormed off in a snit and Cisco didn't give in - he just settled back to wait until SHE returned. Mischa hates being alone and she started calling Cisco's dad Lou Adler for love advice. Lou likes Mischa and tried to reason with her, but soon realized both she and Cisco like to "play games" and he'd better not get involved. Cisco was right - Mischa gave in and they're hot n' heavy all over again.
