Contrary to expectations, Mariah Carey's newlywed husband Nick Cannon couldn't be happier. No, he's NOT complaining about being "Mr Carey." In fact, Nick is telling friends that life has never been better. He and Mariah continue to work on their own careers separately, but Nick is experiencing a new notoriety. He has been pitching ideas for TV shows etc, and doors are swinging open for him - simply because a lot more people know who he is now. So far Nick is delighted with the side benefits of being married to Mariah.

We got the inside word on what Nick Cannon was REALLY doing in the Hello Kitty store. He wasn't shopping for his new bride Mariah. Actually he ducked in there to avoid paparazzi that were following him. He wanted to throw them off the track and get rid of them before he left for his and Mariah's wedding party at Magic Mountain. Nick had already sold all the media rights to ET and he didn't want any maverick snappers to spoil the lucrative deal. We love TMZ's revelation that Nick and Mariah were chauffeured around the park in a pink golf cart- accompanied by her hairstylist and makeup person.

Mariah Carey showed off her new husband Nick Cannon in New York the other night. She has never looked happier - and look- no SPANDEX! The pair, who did not have a pre-nup, haven't had time to pick up a marriage license in the US, so the island wedding isn't legal yet. That leaves plenty of time for those pre-nup discussions. They're expected to fly to LA this weekend and have a wedding blowout for their west coast friends who couldn't make it to the ceremony. Just fifty or sixty people at a private home.
Things are moving AWFULLY fast for Mariah Carey. We broke the news that she was secretly dating Nick Cannon a month ago and it was last week before anyone else caught on. Just days ago the engagement rumor surfaced when Mariah flashed a giant diamond ring that Nick gave her. We've been asking ourselves where Mariah Carey got this fixation with spandex. Finally we got an answer. When Mariah was a little girl, she fell in love with the movie Grease and wanted to grow up and be just like Olivia Newton John. Every Halloween for years after, Mariah dressed up as Sandy in Grease - she danced around in a black spandax outfit just like Olivia wore. Mariah may have outgrown Grease, but she never outgrew spandex.
Men may drive fast cars but it's the women who take all the chances in the world of celebrities these days. Gwyneth Paltrow was photographed in Paris wearing these extraordinary shoes. They're deliciously stylish and maybe eight inches tall. Gwyneth is no fool - note that like Mariah Carey, she has a minder holding her up and helping her keep her balance at all times. A mother of two should NOT fall in her absurdly high shoes and break a leg.

A few days ago a black stretch limo pulled up in front of Long's Drugs in Hollywood and a bunch of curious kids standing on the sidewalk peeked in. "It's MARIAH CAREY!" they screamed. She was on her way to tape her segment for American Idol and had to make an emergency stop. Mariah didn't want to get out, so she sent one of her dancers in the car with her to run into the drugstore for her. Some of the kids followed him inside and report that he bought black Maybelline mascara for Mariah.
Sneaky little Mariah Carey is getting romantic with MTV's Nick Cannon and doesn't want anyone to know! Mariah, 38, has known Nick,27, for years, and she asked him to do a cameo in a video for her "E=MC2" album. They started spending time together working on the video script and they got VERY close. Sparks flew and the next thing she knew, Mariah had promoted Nick from a cameo in her first video, to DIRECTOR of her second video! They were both at Butter in New York the other night but keep up the charade of "just friends." She's been flying around promoting her album so they secretly hook up whenever they can.
We love to compare this new promotional photo of Mariah Carey looking like a bronze goddess to a photo taken of her the other day in New York. Mariah is absolutely an attractive girl, but she looks more muscular and sturdier in the NY photo, and her skin is as white as an endive. It's amazing what a bit of photo enhancement can do for one's ego.

Mariah Carey just HAD to make a quick stop at Van Cleef & Arpels in Beverly Hills on her way to the airport to catch a flight to New York. (As you can see, the sales people perked up when they saw her) She spent her shopping time there perusing the diamonds fearlessly because she had several burly bodyguards surrounding her at all times. Decorated with a few new sparkly things, she gleefully departed.

Mariah Carey showed off her new puppy in Miami and we wonder where her former constant companion, her Jack Russell Terrier named Jack, is. Home alone and forgotten? While strolling along the beach Mariah decided her new puppy must be hungry and she bought him a gourmet hamburger. Not a great idea for a puppy's delicate digestion. But hopefully she'll learn.
