Frankly, we've always wondered how pretty Shawn Southwick managed to wake up every day and see Larry King's face on the next pillow. Now we know. Since she just entered rehab to get a grip on her addiction to painkillers (for migraines) it looks like she was nicely sedated for much of their wedded bliss. Painkillers tend to make it easier to put up with certain things. Just how will Shawn view her May - December marriage after she leaves rehab with clear senses?
Let's clear this up once and for all. Brad Pitt told Larry King that his romance with Angelina Jolie started AFTER he split up with Jennifer Aniston and he never cheated on his wife. For all you doubters- he IS telling the truth! Brad and Jen had decided to end their marriage long before he hooked up with Angelina. Long beforeFriends ended, Jennifer decided she wasn't happy being married to Brad and had stopped trying to have a baby with him. It was Jennifer's idea to split up. They were figuring out how to end it gracefully when he started filming Mr & Mrs Smith with Angelina. Angelina immediately set her sights on Brad and shamelessly turned on the charm. Brad was flattered but he didn't reciprocate until he and Jen separated. Brad has never been a playboy or a cheater - in fact he's one of the few faithful guys in Hollywood. Just ask Gwyneth Paltrow.
Sometimes sitting near a celebrity in the movies is fun, sometimes it's not. Our spy went to The Grove theater to see Hairspray last Saturday (the busiest night of the week) and found Larry King and his wife saving a number of seats in a choice row. Shawn sweetly pointed out one empty seat for our spy. AFTER the movie started, Larry got up several times, went to the lobby, and brought people back to their saved seats, disturbing others in the audience. Larry's group did lots of whispering. One woman in his party text messaged throughout the movie and got up and left several times. Our spy said "She couldn't have seen more than 15 minute of the film." When Hairspray was over, Larry and friends walked out singing its praises.
How about an Emmy nomination for Larry King? We think he deserves one for not falling off his chair when Paris Hilton told him she didn't do drugs and has never tried them. Such a blatant lie would have caused most interviewers to gasp involuntarily or at least laugh out loud. But our Mr King proceeded without a hiccup - he never challenged her claim or lost his composure!
For YEARS Larry King has taped his TV show at the CNN building on Sunset Blvd in Hollywood. But if you ask other people who work in the building what Larry's like, they say they have never encountered him. How is that possible? It was explained that when Larry arrives every day, his "assistants" (usually eager-to-please young women) run ahead of him and shoo everyone OUT of the elevator SO HE CAN RIDE ALONE - both coming and going. Apparently Larry feels he's above making small talk with strangers in the elevator.
