Don't believe Kate Hudson's claims that she and basketball star Baron Davis are just old "friends." They were photographed together in his car the other night on their way to a party at Snoop's. Yes, they are Crossroads high school friends - they DATED in high school. (Photo above is from their ten year H.S. reunion) An acquaintance insists that they have kept in touch and seen each other secretly over the years. For the past month he's been quietly visiting her at her house late at night. The Snoop party was the first night they've gone out in public and Baron was upset to see paparazzi waiting so they drove off. He likes to keep his private life private. (Probably because he doesn't want his girlfriends to know about each other.)

We're gratified to see that her appropriately named son Ryder has finally been cut loose from that stroller he's been trying to escape for so long. At last, he can walk on his own!
Owen Wilson's romance with Kate Hudson finally seems to be over for good, and no one is happier that Owen's best friend Woody Harrelson! According to an acquaintance, Woody and Kate NEVER got along, but they put their differences aside for Owen's sale. (Actually it often happens that best buddies don't like their pal's significant others.) Woody is relieved that Kate is out of the picture- he never thought she was the right girl for Owen.

It's hard to believe that Chris Robinson and Kate Hudson were ever married. They just don't look like they have a lot in common. Chris babysat their son Ryder (who DOES have long hair like daddy) in New York while Kate was there to appear on the Conan O'Brien show.

Kate Hudson's little boy Ryder is asking for more than the freedom to walk instead of ride. He wants his own pet kangaroo! Ryder fell in love with the species when his mom was filming Fool's Gold in Queensland, Australia last year. He's been talking nonstop about kangaroos ever since. Kate gave Ryder a stuffed kangaroo and told him a real one wasn't possible. He also asked his dad and grandma Goldie Hawn but they suggested he think about a puppy instead.

Kate Hudson looks perturbed because her little boy Ryder is growing up fast - at four years of age he's becoming independent and doesn't want to be strapped into a stroller any more like a baby. Good for him! Next he'll demand a haircut!

This picture of Kate Hudson is bound to get the "baby bump watchers" all riled up. (Who STARTED this fanatical bump-watching, anyway?) It's getting so a girl can't exhale or eat dessert without setting off alarms. As far as anyone knows, Kate is NOT expecting, but from now on she'll be closely observed.

Like many couples, Kate Hudson and her exhusband Chris Robinson get along better now that they're not living together. Awhile back, they just saw each other for the sake of their son Ryder but they've healed differences and gotten friendlier. The other night they went out in New York to a bar in the West Village and watched a Cowboys game on the TV.
We have to give Tom and Katie Cruise credit where credit is due. They don't take the easy way out by strapping Suri into a stroller when they go out. He and Katie allow Suri to run and play and explore. We happen to think strollers are contributing to childhood obesity. (Not to mention the fact that we're tired of tripping over them in crowded places.) Instead of allowing their toddlers to walk, parents push them around in these mini-wheelchairs while they drink and eat sugary stuff to keep them quiet. Kate Hudson's son Ryder (top photo) is almost four and STILL being pushed around like he's handicapped. Tom and Katie's baby Suri is barely one and a half and she runs joyfully free, holding onto her parents hands.
Kate Hudson returned last weekend from making a movie in Australia and her first stop was - of all places- The Palms lesbian bar in West Hollywood. (The ONLY women's gay bar in the neighborhood.) She and a bunch of girlfriends were celebrating somebody's birthday. Kate was casually dressed and she and her band of tall blonde hotties danced and whooped it up and created QUITE a stir in the women's dive bar. A lot of surreptitious ogling went on, but we're sorry to report there were no love connections that night.
