Two years ago Kanye West stormed the stage at the MTV Europe Music Awards to complain about not getting best video. This year he was honored with the Ultimate Urban Award, so he should have been happy, right? Maybe he didn't like his accommodations this time around, because the rumor has just surfaced that he peed on his dressing room carpet instead of going to the mens room. We're thinking the unlucky UK group Ting Tings who SHARED that dressing room with Kanye, are the ones who leaked the story.

Kanye West made quite a splash at his home town - Chicago - at the Lollapalooza Music Festival in Grant Park last weekend. Here he is being driven around, wrapped in his white hood in spite of warm weather. A rumor circulated that Barack Obama would introduce Kanye, but that prove not to be true. He was still a big hit and dedicated his performance to his mother " who drove me to Chicago at age three."

We actually started to forgive Kanye West for his arrogance and egocentricity after his mother died so tragically. His appearance on the Grammys changed all that good will. He used the memory of his mother to call MORE attention to himself and solicit pity. First he sang that melodramatic song dedicated to her, with all the James Brown theatrics, including angels floating in the sky. But that wasn't enough. Later, when he was making a long dull acceptance speech and the music started softly playing to hurry him up, he became outraged. Holier than thou Kanye started up again with a dedication to his mother to make himself look not like a blowhard, but a devastated son. Cheap manipulation.
Maybe Kanye West isn't as arrogant as he wants us to think. Last Sunday he was at a Lakers game and they played his song "Goldigger." Kanye was sitting courtside and when the jumbotron flashed his image, there was a ROAR of applause for him! He looked completely overwhelmed by the warm response. And he really WAS touched - minutes later he was seen in the tunnel crying.
Neighbors are astounded by the fact that Kanye West has 24 hour around-the-clock bodyguards watching his house in the Hollywood Hills. He's not exactly the gangsta type that needs protection. "It must cost a fortune - what's he afraid of?" said a curious neighbor. That got us wondering if his feud with 50 Cent has escalated. Hardcore 50 Cent has barely concealed his contempt for Kanye's "softer" music. He dissed Kanye when he said "I think middle America would rather have their kids be GAY than have them be aggressive." (Did he say that because Kanye shops at Barneys?) Despite the big bucks he spends on security, Kanye still eats at economical Baja Fresh on Sunset nearly every day!
Here's the scoop on Bono's visit to The Grove that we warned you about: Kanye West was minding his own business browsing in Nordstrom at the Grove Sunday with his fiancee and her child when he noticed the store was abuzz with excitement. People were making a mad dash for the second floor. A store executive noticed Kanye and explained that Bono was autographing t-shirts upstairs to raise money for his African charity. He invited Kanye to make an appearance to support the cause and Kanye agreed. But he took one look at the frenzied mob of people around Bono and stopped in his tracks. A witness said " It was like a religious experience- people were in AWE of Bono like he was The Pope or something. They PRAISED him for making the world a better place!" Women were weeping and men were trying to touch Bono. Kanye and his group decided against infiltrating THAT crowd, and slipped away to shop elsewhere.
