You just never know who you're going to run into in Beverly Hills. Here's a very famous performer from France who can walk around practically unrecognized, except for ONE sharp eyed paparazzi. Johnny Hallyday is called the "French Elvis" and he's enjoyed over forty years of popularity in Europe. Recently he moved out of France in protest of the crushing tax system and took a lot of flak from Francophiles. He's pictured here with his wife Laetitia and daughter Jade.

who cares? really...who cares?
JH is a gigantic star everywhere but here. We AREN'T the center of the world anymore welcome to the future ...
Saying that, the ol' coot called the paps himself!
ANOTHER KID IN STROLLER THAT SHOULD BE WALKING INSTEAD OF BEING PUSHED AROUND LIKE SHE IS HANDICAPPED...
Listen, Mithy. Around my neighborhood, at the mall, in the park, my 3 year-old is always on foot. But if I'm on a busy urban street, like where this family is pictured, my girl would be in a stroller. She's very impulsive and I would worry about her dashing into the street. Especially if I was shopping and had my hands full of bags and such.
The guy looks too good for an artist from the early sixties.
Are painting pants all the rage now?
If the French tax system is so punishing why would Johnny Depp prefer to live there as opposed to Hollywoodland?
Little Mithy never had children obviously.
Asian babies seem to be the latest Hollywood accessory. How long will this fad last?
The French aren't known for their rock & roll. The only thing I can think of is "Ca Plane Pour Moi" by Plastic Bertrand.
I met Johnny Hallyday last summer in Santa Fe sitting outside a famed hotel. His whole French group was friendly, not stuffy, and yes, going very anonymous as far as people not knowing who he was. He was a very nice person...genuine. Since, I, too, did not know WHO or what kind of icon he was, it was a very enjoyable chat. Later, someone mentioned his fame..and the extent of it. With the laid-back atmosphere of Santa Fe, it was probably refreshing to be a NORMAL person enjoying some freedom from paparazzi. He was on a motorcycle tour..and most of the group had on his SMET clothing line..named after him and designed by Christian Audigier. A French film director of great fame was with him as well. Johnny was quite a nice guy and his group was interesting without being overbearing. It would be great if all people would treat celebs in this manner and all celebs would act in this manner. He seemed to be enjoying the atmosphere without the chaos.
