Usually John Mayer wallows in glare of flashbulbs, but he's in no mood here. Apparently he is NOT on his way to an Obama rally. Our readers know that the wearing of hoods is NOT allowed at any Obama events. No doubt Mayer is avoiding the press because he doesn't want to talk about Jennifer Aniston. It was just a matter of time before Jen would tire of his boyish antics with women and call it off. Hopefully Mayer is NOT brooding over the rumor that Jen is dating model Matt Felker - THAT is 100% untrue. They don't even know each other.

Why does John Mayer look 10,000 times hotter with this shaved head? He turned up at Fred Segal freshly shorn with the Prison Break look and it REALLY works for him. Those tousled curls made him look awfully sweet and soft. Now he has an edge and we wonder if Jennifer Aniston is behind this. We TOLD you men who date her get better looking. And if anyone knows the importance of a haircut, SHE does.

This picture of John Mayer holding Jennifer Aniston's dog's leash reveals a lot about their relationship because Jennifer is VERY fussy about who takes care of her dog. Her pooch Norman has been with Jen through thick and thin - that's numerous boyfriends and one husband, and he's the longest lasting male in her life. Jen must hold John in high esteem to trust him with Norman. The three of them flew from Miami to Orlando where Mayer performed, while Jen watched backstage.

It's cool to see Jennifer Aniston really having a good time. She and John Mayer are having a delightful and protracted fling at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Miami. They worked out in the gym and frolicked in the pool and didn't care WHO was watching. Jennifer just finished filming "Marley & Me" with Owen Wilson there and she took John to the wrap party where he sang a few songs. We're guessing neither of them takes the romance seriously - they're just enjoying the moment.

John Mayer must be EXTREMELY important - he was yakking on TWO cell phones when he left Chateau Marmont the other night. We're guessing Minka Kelly is on one phone - could the other be his admitted "crush" Ricki Lake?

John Mayer was in a really good mood the other might when he left The Waverly Inn. He took a liking to the photographer following him and asked what he could do to make the photo more marketable. Eventually he decided that holding hands with his male companion would be amusing and start speculation. His buddy looks a little embarrassed, but the photo is fun and it makes you wonder if he's still seeing Minka Kelly.

When John Mayer was dating Jessica Simpson he turned her on to his secret weapon - Hollywood trainer Harley Pasternak. Jessica loved Harley's workouts and continued to train with him after she and John split. Now that John has taken up with Minka Kelly (star of Friday Night Lights) he couldn't help but introduce Harley to Minka also. That left Harley training John, Jessica, AND Minka, he had to be extremely careful to juggle his schedule to keep their appointments FAR apart. Eventually Jessica decided the situation was too awkward and she found another trainer.

We never get to see pictures of John Mayer looking animated like he does here having lunch with a male friend at the Kings Road Cafe yesterday. After all, he IS a blues singer. First, he got very excited about a text message and then he chowed down with enthusiasm. Usually Mayer walks around hunched over with his head down, looking rather put upon. It's a pleasant change to see him having a good time.

Last time we saw John Mayer, he was looking good, but leaving Parc alone. He doesn't exactly seem euphoric over the fact that he's a free man now. Maybe he's having second thoughts about Jessica Simpson.

Jessica Simpson is heartbroken because her romantic summer plans have gone awry. She starts filming Major Movie Star in June in Shreveport, Louisiana. In this comedy she plays a struggling acttress who enlists in the Marines. Hey - didn't Goldie Hawn already do that movie? She had hoped to rent a big house in Shreveport and have John Mayer share it with her. Fantasies of warm southern nights under the stars and afternoon barbecues filled her head. But John told her it's out of the question - he's way too busy working this summer. He'll try to visit when he can, but that's the best he can do.

We always knew Hollywood couples (where both parties are famous,) are worth more than either person alone. Photographs of couples are worth more and pairs are more in demand than singles. But we never expected Jessica Simpson's stock to drop by HALF when John Mayer's not around! That's what happened when she made a deal to host an event at Pure nightclub Thursday in Las Vegas. Pure offered Jess and John $500,000 EACH if they'd cohost a special Pussycat Dolls show there. John said no thanks, and now Jessica is pocketing $250,000 to do the job alone. Quite a pay cut, but still well worth doing.

Jessica Simpson has a look of contentment she hasn't had since her marriage ended. She was in a clothing store recently when a John Mayer song started playing. She stopped in her tracks and almost swooned. "I can't believe this- I think we're really meant to be - it's fate." She made her feelings about Mayer very clear to her friend and assorted salespeople. The other night at Winston's she looked pretty and more voluptuous than usual, but she was clearly wishing John was with her.

Jessica Simpson and John Mayer are eating like an old married couple. They brought a bunch of friends to Citizen Smith late last night and health food was NOT on their minds. The couple ordered cocktails and bar food- plenty of jalapeno mac and cheese for the table, as well as frozen hot chocolates and buffalo smiths ( chicken strips.) No one was counting carbs or calories. They're already starting to look alike.

Are we crazy or are Jessica Simpson and John Mayer starting to look alike? Jess has darkened her hair and it looks like she dragged him to her tanning salon at least once. His usually pasty skin has a bronze glow. Jessica has also ditched her colorful sexy wardrobe and suddenly she's wearing black like you know who. Couples DO start to look alike after awhile, but this pair is moving fast.

There was no sign of Jessica's sometime boyfriend John Mayer when Jessica Simpson and her sister Ashlee arrived arm in arm at Le Deux last week. Interesting how Ashlee is morphing into her sister - they're wearing the same lipcolor, but Ashlee is TANNER and has LONGER EXTENSIONS than Jessica....

We feel it's our duty to warn newly divorced and vulnerable Jessica Simpson to proceed with caution in her budding romance with John Mayer. Although he's not a social climber like Kristin Cavallari, few people realize what a potent casanova the soulful singer is. Those big tender brown eyes hide the same predatory tendancies Warren Beatty was once noted for. He KNOWS what women want. Girls who SWOON over his love songs don't exactly put up a fight, so John's batting average is alarming high. Let's hope Jessica keeps her wits about her and keeps an eye out for warning signs.
