Britney Spears couldn't resist attending Robin Thicke's performance at the House of Blues Thursday night even though the experience was bittersweet. Brit has long harbored a crush on Robin - back in 2004 she reportedly was seen with him a few times, looking affectionate. (This was before she met Kevin Federline.) No romance developed but she admitted she was very fond of him and would like to have gotten to know him better. Robin's happily married now, so Britney's just another fan with a backstage pass.
Sly, along with some of The Family Stone are still trying to forge a comeback and they're booked Friday, April 25, at the House of Blues in Anaheim. Let's hope the show is longer than the brief but tantalizing appearance he made onstage at the 2006 Grammys. It's only too easy to imagine what happened to Sly in all these years since his raging popularity in the funk-mad early 70's. (He was the first rockstar we ever saw with a portable phone - it was the size of a thick briefcase. Sly wanted to be able to call his lawyer at the drop of a rolled up hundred dollar bill.) He's got a bad back and he's hunched over now. Sly says he fell off a cliff walking in his yard. We just hope he shows up Friday - with or without the mohawk.
