She was observed driving with a friend, over forty miles from her house to Tarzana, to enjoy some tasty burritos at the tiny modestly priced Burritos El Chavo Mexican restaurant. And she didn't like being photographed walking out of the place.

Almost anyone who eats hamburgers in Hollywood loves In-N-Out Burger on Sunset. It's been reported that Nicole Ritchie has Joel Madden on a diet and that she's giving him a gradual style makeover. Fashion-wise he looks about the same, but he HAS lost a few pounds. Eating french fries is not a good way to KEEP it off, but at least he's not sneaking behind Nicole's back. They were seen at the drive-thru on the day before Thanksgiving.

He's looking much fitter these days because he's doing all the right things. Perry is working out with a special trainer at a private gym in Beverly Hills four times a week. And, according to an employee at a restaurant he frequents near the gym, he's on the Hollywood Diet: scrambled egg whites and broiled chicken. So Matthew is obviously sculpting himself a new body.

Nice to see Mary-Kate Olsen looking casual and comfortable. That vintage Kenny Rogers T shirt adds a touch of whimsy. The diminutive twin had a liquid lunch of miso soup with girlfriends at Real Food Daily in West Hollywood. She gave her feet a rest by wearing flat sandals, but she didn't give her lungs a rest - she took a smoke break outside.

Kristen Johnston is always funny, but with this 60 pound weight loss, she looks YEARS younger! Even younger than she did on "3rd Rock from the Sun. This photo was taken as she left a New York supermarket - not much in that bag!

Tori Spelling had just struggled to lose all her baby weight when she got pregnant with her second child. The first time around Tori ate everything in sight- and plenty of it. Deep dish pizza, burritos, cupcakes, etc. She packed on 40 pounds and for the FIRST time in her life, she had to really work out and diet to take it off. It was no fun, so she vowed she won't do it this time around. She's determined not to gain more than 30 pounds - preferably less than 25. Tori's concentrating on nutritional foods and telling Dean and her friends "Don't tempt me!"
Johnny Depp, now starring (above) as Dillinger in Michael Mann's "Public Enemies," has never been noted for his clean living, but it seems he has evolved. Recently he worked in Vancouver and his list of requests was very revealing. No hard liquor, no rolling papers. Johnny asked for a treadmill, weights, and a stability ball for his suite. He wanted his refrigerator stocked with blueberries, strawberries, pineapple, kiwi, and soy milk. As far as diet is concerned, Johnny asked for thoroughly cooked chicken breast, tuna packed in water, and hard boiled eggs. No wonder he looks years younger than his 44 years.
Hollywood is speculating about why Eva Mendes checked herself into Cirque Lodge in Utah for substance abuse problems. Insiders say "Eva has always been cool, never overindulged in public" and the one thing she struggled with was her weight. Kirsten Dunst checked into the same rehab looking thin as a toothpick. Just about every female celebrity arrested from Paris to Nicole, Lindsay, along with Britney Spears, has had prescription Adderall (which is prescribed for ADHD) in her purse. In Hollywood this drug is not used for ADHD, it's a form of Dexedrene and it keeps one awake while killing the appetite. (College students love it.) Pills are indiscriminately popped like aspirin day and night. Recently we've learned that they are very addictive and can cause all kinds of craziness. Just maybe, this explains why so many Hollywood women are having behavior problems

Here's walking-on-the-beach proof that starvation diets DO work - quickly, if not permanently. Brandon Davis spent two weeks on a 500 calorie a day liquid diet. He guzzled vitamin shakes instead of eating food and managed to take off twenty pounds. He does look better. Let's see if he can KEEP it off.
Diners at the Larchmont Koo Koo Roo were taken aback when they saw Faye Dunaway stride in the door wearing gym clothes and disposable clear plastic FOOD HANDLING GLOVES! Our spy said she looked muscular, slim and healthy. She ordered chicken and broccoli to go, and then she sat at a table with her food container. She pulled a tiny scale out of her purse and "in a manic way" proceeded to pull the chicken meat off the bones and weigh it. She piled the bones and skin on a napkin. She carefully weighed the chicken meat and broccoli and the broccoli was a little short so she went to the counter and asked for more. When everything was measured, she put it back in the carry-out box. She picked up the castoff chicken bones and threw them in the trash and peeled off the gloves and threw them away also. She walked out triumphant with her meal to go and we wonder WHAT super-specific diet she is on!

Jessica Simpson and John Mayer are eating like an old married couple. They brought a bunch of friends to Citizen Smith late last night and health food was NOT on their minds. The couple ordered cocktails and bar food- plenty of jalapeno mac and cheese for the table, as well as frozen hot chocolates and buffalo smiths ( chicken strips.) No one was counting carbs or calories. They're already starting to look alike.

Faye Dunaway is never boring. She attended the Vanity Fair Oscar party with stylist George Blodwell and they must be close friends because she was also photographed with him at an AMFAR event at the Cannes Film Festival. He appears to be a few years younger than her, and coincidentally Faye has a movie coming out called Cougar Club - about younger men who find success and happiness with older powerful women. Faye must be an interesting date - we hear she flabbergasted eccentic designer John Galliano at that fancy AMFAR dinner when she pulled a tiny scale out of her bag and proceeded to WEIGH everything on her plate. (French people just don't understand American diet obsessions.)

We almost forgot how cute Barbra Streisand was back in the 70's. She looks like a hippie girl her in her Woodstock hair and embroidered jacket from Chinatown. And that was a real suntan - they didn't have tanning booths then. A few weeks ago Barbra was at a big art event in Santa Monica - it was held in a large space crowded with wealthy art collectors. A woman heard Barbra was in the house and asked several people where she might find her. She was told "If she's here, she'll be by the food." Sure enough, Barbra was found nibbling at the food table. Hubby James Brolin was socializing while, according to a server, Barbra was " parked at the food table all night."
We predicted this from day one. Victoria Beckham is starting to influence Katie Holmes when it comes to WEIGHT. Katie is not a size zero - she's a nicely proportioned slim girl. But whenever she's photographed next to narrow Posh, she looks like a Clydesdale. It's enough to make a girl self conscious! Katie can't help but feel extra large next to her svelte friend and it's getting to her. Ms Cruise is doing everything she can to appear smaller and it started with the body shaper peeking out above.. She was caught wearing a slimming foundation garment to control those hips. This is only the FIRST inevitable step. A vegetable diet CANNOT be far behind.
Here's a juicy little secret that Tom Cruise might kill us for telling you. Oh well, here we go- Tom was wearing a GIRDLE under his tuxedo at his wedding! In case you haven't noticed, Tom packed on around twenty pounds in the past few months before the big event. He says he's a "nervous eater." And he's had a lot to be nervous about - his exit from Paramount and his high octane marriage. When Tom arrived in Rome, we hear that Giorgio Armani was apoplectic because the wedding tux was too small. Armani personally tended to all the fittings while Tom's pants were let out and various details were adjusted. Tom wanted to look svelte so he didn't protest when Giorgio suggested girdling Tom's midsection so the jacket would fall properly. The corset was sewn into Tom's undergarment. Everyone was sworn to secrecy, but those Armani employees love to gossip, and are we grateful for THAT!
Happy Feet, the animated penguin movie, held a press junket at the Beverly Regent Hotel and Brittany Murphy showed up as a last minute surprise. Brittany arrived looking "shockingly emaciated" but she was bubbly and sweet to all. A mountain of Loius Vuitton luggage followed her into her suite. Journalists from all over the country waited expectantly in the hall while Brittany prepared for her series of short interviews. Rack after rack of clothing were rolled into her suite, followed by "forty or fifty pairs of Jimmy Choo shoes." Hairdressers with bags of hair, makeup people, PR people, and fashion stylists crowded in. Cigarette smoke wafted out of the room whenever the door was opened. Room service delivered coffee and a tray of petite peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with crusts cut off . An hour later when the tray was removed, there were only three tiny sandwich triangles eaten. Massive preparation meant that exhausted journalists waited HOURS for Brittany to appear, but when she did, she charmed them.
Kirstie Alley LOOKS fabulous due to her amazing weight loss but according to coworkers, it hasn't done much for her temperament. A few years back when chubby Kirstie was filming her Pier 1 commercials she was described as "a lot of fun!" Her skirts got puffier with every commercial, but Kirstie was happy. "She loves fast food and routinely had orders from Taco Bell and Arby's brought in during the shooting days. She was sweet and generous " said a coworker "but she wasn't hungry." Her Jenny Craig ad shoots are a different story. Being hungry is no fun. A source said "Since she lost weight , Kirstie is SURLY! She's impatient and yells at the director 'Aren't we done yet!' or 'Let's speed it up!' She's more fun when she's eating!"
Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen were the last to arrive and first to leave at their brother Trent's graduation party at Arnie Morton's in Studio City. It was just around twenty family and friends but their table was festively decorated with balloons. The twins and their siblings and buddies grabbed the balloons and sucked the helium- laughing uproariously and cracking jokes in their high pitched cartoon voices. After much giggling, the twins left before the steak dinners were served they didn't eat a thing. Another diner noted "So THAT'S how they stay so slim all they had for dinner was HELIUM!"
