Christian Bale's mother Jenny could end up with more money than she asked her wealthy son for! According to the British papers, Bale's mother visited him at his London hotel before the Dark Knight premier and asked for $200,000 and her son balked. This supposedly ignited the argument that led to the dramatic police report. Christopher and his mother haven't been close since his parents separated and he chose to live with his father in LA, while his mother stayed in England. Interestingly, his father later married one of our heroes, Gloria Steinem and died in 2003. Anyway, Jenny has been bombarded with big money offers to tell her story, so she could end up with EVEN MORE than she asked for!

Another Christian Bale theory has appeared that MIGHT explain his temperamental behavior. How do we put this delicately? It's common knowledge that Christian and Heath Ledger were close friends. They were both "intense" actors and seemed to have a lot in common. Both complained of insomnia and had mood swings. Is it possible that they had prescription medications in common also? Mothers HAVE been known to be highly critical of these things. Heath Ledger's drug problems separated him from HIS family - that's all we're going to say. Just thinking out loud.

Christian Bale looks like a time bomb ready to explode. He's had this stern, controlled look on his face since The Dark Knight opened and the spectacular boxoffice results did NOTHING to change it! The fact that his mother and sister charged him with some sort of abuse in London deepens the mystery. They certainly didn't show up at his premier. We think Christian is sick and tired of fans asking him for autographs and talking incessantly about scene stealing Heath Ledger. If anyone asks Bale one more time "What was it like to work with Heath?" he's going to GO POSTAL! We just hope cameras are there.

You will probably end up standing in line to see The Dark Knight this weekend and we strongly suggest you do it at an Imax theater. The visual scope of the film is surely one of the most enjoyable parts, so see it the way it was meant to be seen. While we were enthralled by Heath Ledger's creative performance, we had to feel sorry for Christian Bale who starred as Batman. HE is The Dark Knight, after all. Bale is an excellent actor who is being completely ignored while the world concentrates on the late Heath Ledger. Reporters actually have had the gall to insult Bale's intelligence by asking if he felt the so-called "dark role" contributed to Ledger's untimely demise. We have to admire Bale's self control - he was more polite than we would have been. It's a movie based on a COMIC BOOK! Heath wrapped the movie knowing he did an amazing job of acting - he must have been walking on air. What happened later was not related. On a lighter note - we loved the Joker's wardrobe and have a new appreciation for the combo of purple and olive green.

We HEARD that 3:10 To Yuma star Christian Bale dislikes being famous and recognized, but we didn't know he would go so far as to deny his own identity! Apparently Christian did NOT want anyone to know he was at Burning Man. He was seen wearing a scarf over the lower half of his face to keep out the sand. But people who had met him before, still acknowledged him. Right to their faces, he insisted he WASN'T Christian Bale- "Sorry - wrong person!" They walked away, perplexed. Who does he think he's kidding? But he was one of the few celebrities at Burning Man.
