Why is it doubtful that they have no training? Some of these people are probably licensed chemists in their native countries and earned their license here to clean Nicole Richie's toe jam because it was a cheaper and faster option that didn't show bias to non-native English speakers.

I have been to high end "nail spas" and low end "nail spas" and to be honest in none are you guaranteed higenic tools or anything like that. but I have had my nails done really well by a salon that looks slightly better than this with the foot spa machines for $20 and that includes a manicure and a perdicure. they are in brentwood of all places and the place rocks. and yes they dont really speak english but I am not there for conversation I am there to get my nails did.

These nail salons that do nails only are usually great and just as clean as anywhere else. You can get an infection from a high-end salon too- but here they do nothing but nails all day long and you can often get in without waiting too long or an appointment.

I can personally vouch that you can get toe fungus from even high end salons...My doctor said I got it from my pedicure and the tools not being sanitary. The woman who did my pedicure was WHITE...

i had a mani / pedi done at a really nice salon, and they go to great lengths to make everything sanitary. they sterilize all of their implements and clean the basins at the base of the "throne".
nicole is a stupid anorexic druggie snob. we'll see if she goes to jail for having two DUI violations.

Hey Janet! You should do a little more investigation. You really f'd up on this one. This so called discount nail shop is on BEDFORD DR in Beverly Hills, just across the street from where Dr. 90210 is shot. Not sure how a discount nail salon can afford paying those expensive BH rents. But maybe you can explain?

Why do rich girls like Nicole Richie patronize these discount nail salons ? Not only is it doubtful that the overworked non English speaking manicurists have any sort of training or license, but sanitation of equipment is highly suspect. And the heavy chemical smells from other clients' nail procedures can be sickening. That's what you get for $9.00. And don't forget the lack of privacy - a perfect photo op!
