One of my favorite people from college days -- Tricia Brodbine, are you reading this? -- was a huge fan of Barry Manilow, back in the day.

But even Tricia would admit that Barry, who was then at the height of his fame, never seemed as attractive when he wasn't wearing a tux. And it's true. Something about his build doesn't lend itself to casual clothing. Oh well.

Manilow did not have hip replacement surgery. He had both labrum in his hips repaired - a very common surgery for athletes. From years of dancing and stressing out his hips on stage. I believe the guy in the pic is the person who wrote this and said he ran into him on the beach.

The guy with Barry is Scott Nevins supposedly a radio personality/interviewer ala Perez Hilton and comedian. Looks like they spent the 4th of July weekend visiting together. Can't tell if the photos 'reveal' anything really. Some of the pics I've seen are very staged looking- maybe Scott is going to do a story on Barry- if Barry does play for the 'other team' he has done a great job of hiding it for 35 years- so why 'come out' now? Personally I'm not sure he is gay- though everyone thinks so. I don't think this time spent with Scott is 'personal time' because since Barry is still a hot commodity with female fans I don't think he would show himself like this adn especially while he still has a Vegas contract- IF he does play for the other team.
