Even if he hid all the newspapers in the house, Anne's friends must have whispered things in her ear a long time ago. But she was in love and didn't want that lavish lifestyle to end. Anne claimed "The rug was pulled out from under me all of a sudden." Sorry, we're not swallowing it, Anne.

Anne Hathaway's handlers are SO glad they talked her into separating from her con artist boyfriend Raffaello Follieri - before the chips started to fall. According to the NY Post, Follieri is bringing down the larcenous people he did his funny business with - including a few priests. Follieri is accused of paying off highranking Catholic clergymen who pretended to be his business associates and helped him defraud investors in real estate schemes. Cardinals and monsignors are running for cover! The question is: will any of this diminish Anne deep feelings for Raffaello? People who say they know Raffaello are starting to claim Anne snitched on him, but we doubt that very much.
Anne Hathaway isn't fooling us. Sure, she ANNOUNCED that she and her con artist boyfriend Raffaello Follieri split right before his latest troubles hit the headlines, but that was for show purposes only. Her people are trying to save her from being dragged into in his tawdry illegal activities. But she still loves him as much as ever and whenever he 's not locked up you can bet they will have secret rendezvous. Surely they are in constant contact, but from a distance. She's waiting and hoping that he will get out of his legal mess relatively unscathed so they can resume their romance in public. We'll see.

When will Anne Hathaway FINALLY come to terms with the fact that her Italian boyfriend is a con man? Raffaello Follieri in the process of being sued by billionaire Ron Burkle for misusing 55 million dollars in a real estate deal. He was sued for nonpayment of debts by a PR firm for $240,000 and almost $500,000 for a private jet service. The slippery casanova also is accused of starting up a shady charity that takes in lots of money, but has yet to donate funds to any needy recipients. Cops went to Anne's Manhattan home this week looking for Raffaello because he bounced a $215,000 check. The account had only $30.08 in it. Anne was reportedly in tears. In this case, the Devil Wearing Prada is a man.

Who would have guessed the Miss Sixty fashion show in New York would draw such a stellar front row celebrity crowd? People are starting to wonder why The Devil Wears Prada star Anne Hathaway is not distancing herself from her scandal plagued Italian boyfriend Raffaello Follieri. American billionaire Ron Burkle is suing Follieri for misappropriating funds in a joint business venture. Burkle claims Follieri spent company money to finance a lavish lifestyle - private jets, a penthouse apartment, five star hotels and restaurants etc for himself and Anne and their dog Esmeralda. What's worse is that Follieri has set up a charity foundation in his name but nobody seems to have benefited from the donations except HIM. And Anne is a board member of this suspect foundation. Is she in cahoots with this Euro wheeler-dealer or an innocent pawn?
