You'd think it was a Las Vegas hotel opening and not a shopping mall in Glendale. The 400 million dollar Americana at Brand opened with considerable fanfare this weekend and Jay Leno hosted the festivities on opening night. We were amused to learn that they trucked in 500 full grown trees for the smoke free grounds, which include apartments and condos along with the fountains and retail stores. Natalie Cole sang TWO songs for the opening and was paid $100,000 for doing so. THAT'S how posh this mall is.
