That stalker who committed suicide outside her house has been harassing Paula for over three years with hundreds of letters, phone calls, and surprise visits. Just a week before she died, Paula Goodspeed, 30, cleverly sent flowers to Abdul with a note that read "Hope you're doing great - here's my new cell number" signed "Love, JT." When Paula learned it was NOT from her on-again off-again boyfriend JT Torregiani, she freaked. And just when it seemed the nightmare was OVER, the NY Post says the stalker's brother BLAMES Paula for sending his sister over the edge! How crazy is THAT! Let's hope mental illness doesn't run in that family.

We're assuming the fans who paid $250 to get into Miley Cyrus's early birthday party at Disneyland last night got their money's worth. It wasn't a very intimate party - with 5000 people (some invited, some bought tickets) - but both Miley and her father performed for the crowd. We were especially interested to see that Miley made a point of inviting American Idol runner up David Archuleta. Last July we told you Miley has her eye on David - she thinks he's really cute AND talented and wants to work with him. In a party crowd that size however, it's unlikely they had any time together.
THAT'S exactly what David Archuleta,17, said the last time his was in Las Vegas with the American Idol performers. He was at an after party at Skybar when he made that statement to a reporter. The startled reporter asked WHY he felt that way and David pointed out that the club smelled awful because so many people were SMOKING. He's not used to being in places where smoking is allowed and it bothers his throat. He likes the nightlife there, just NOT the smoke.
It was heavily publicized that American Idol David Cook was a bartender before he won the title. Recently there was some kind of publicity event at The Rainbow on Sunset Strip and David made a special guest appearance, working the bar for a few hours. Oddly enough, when customers ordered drinks David didn't know how to make them! He didn't know the ingredients in a screw driver and a staffer had to tell him! In fact the staffer ended up making almost all the drinks because it was easier than telling David how to do it. Service was incredibly SLOW and everyone found it hard to believe David was ever a bartender. Maybe he worked in a beer bar.

Here's a thought provoking couple: American Idol past finalist Constantine Maroulis and Holly Huddleston from Sunset Tan were seen out at the Crown Bar in West Hollywood. Constantine usually keeps his private life under wraps and Holly was recently linked with American Idol host Ryan Seacrest, of all people.
American Idol's Jason Castro put up with a boatload of misery on a grueling airline flight last week and he never cracked a scowl. Journalist Sue Facter happened to be seated a few rows behind Jason on an American Airlines flight from Newark to LA, Tuesday night at 6:30. Flight attendants and passengers were aflutter at the sight of the exhausted Jason and he was "friendly and accommodating." But he never got to nap. The flight was delayed for hours and finally everyone was sent to hotels. The next day he was bumped to coach and THAT flight made an emergency landing in Chicago for mechanical reasons. Hours later, passengers were complaining loudly as they were herded onto yet another plane. Jason was again bumped to coach and this flight had no pillows, blankets, and ran out of food! Passengers had to share their tiny sandwiches! Through it all, Sue says, Jason remained charismatic and sweet to everyone. It took three planes and 24 hours to get him to LA - and he was still smiling.

Constantine Maroulis arrived at the opening of the club Opera in Hollywood last night with seven girls. Too bad four of them were underage and had fake I.D.'s and were turned away. The club has some new sophisticated system for checking if ID's are phoney. The loss of four girls didn't faze the American Idol runner up, he ended up in a clinch with a blonde. (In spite of those awful shoes.)

Apparently fully recovered from his controversial onstage collaboration with Joe Perry, Sanjaya Malakar really got into partying at The Standard with other American Idol contestants. We wonder if he'll become a regular on the club circuit in Hollywood. Or do only underage GIRLS get past those big doormen?
We have not seen the last of Sanjaya Malakar. When Jennifer Lopez appeared on American Idol she was enchanted by the seventeen year old contestant. In fact, she got such a kick out of him that she has decided to sign him to some sort of deal. It might not involve singing. She has a number of businesses including fashion, and she's not sure exactly what she'll do with him, but she's determined to get him to sign on the dotted line.
